Dr. Diksha Malik, MD, Joins HAN Provider Team

Lincoln, ME. February 5, 2019 – Health Access Network (HAN) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Diksha Malik, MD, to its provider team.

Dr. Malik is currently providing primary care services at HAN’s Lincoln location and will soon begin offering prenatal care and Suboxone treatment.  She is a board-certified physician, a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, a 2016 graduate of Eastern Maine Medical Center’s (EMMC) residency program, and an alumnus of the University of Kentucky School of Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Medicine.

In 2016, Dr. Malik set out to explore the West Coast and to practice family medicine in Merced, California.  She loved the culture, learned Spanish, and found her passion for teaching and mentoring students interested in the medical field.

A self-described New Englander, it was a desire to be closer to family, friends and nature that brought her back to the East Coast.  For Dr. Malik, joining HAN’s provider team has the feel of a homecoming, having completed her residency program’s rural rotation at the organization’s Medway location.

In regards to returning to the area to live and practice medicine, Dr. Malik notes, “what Lincoln offers is a small community where people are genuine, open and willing to help each other out.  What is so exciting about practicing at HAN, is how the organization captures that same community feel.  You are truly practicing community health with colleagues who treat each other like close friends and family.”

It was the idea of getting to know people over the long-term that swayed Dr. Malik towards primary care in medical school.  It is this very notion that she carries forward in working with patients at HAN. Dr. Malik shares, “I enjoy working with patients to help them make changes to improve their lives.  I love seeing how these changes progress over time, and the best part of my job is when I get to see a patient truly feeling better.”

Making a difference in the lives of our patients and our community.

Providing compassionate, high quality healthcare services for all.
