Referral Specialist

Position Location: Onsite training in Medway with referral coordinator for at least 6 months and will then evaluate and determine location at that time

Hours: Full time – 40 hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Reports to: Referral Coordinator

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

• Responsible for all external specialty and insurance referrals for assigned HAN providers
• Provide insurance pre-certification for procedures
• Make referral appointments and inform patients of the appointment time
• Responsible for tracking referrals
• Collaborate with referral sources (MRI, dermatologist, radiology etc.) to determine the information needed from our office to make the referral appointment
• Ensure effective and thorough documentation of referrals in the electronic medical record

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Referral experience preferred
• Critical thinking skills
• Works as a team player, but can work independently
• Must be organized and able to meet deadlines
• Computer literate, quick learner, and attention to detail
