Financial Controller
POSITION: Financial Controller
HOURS: 32 hours per week
SCHEDULE: Four 8-hour days
LOCATION: Hybrid; two days on site and two days remote

SUMMARY:
In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), oversees activities related to the implementation and maintenance of the organization’s general accounting operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Responsible for general ledger maintenance, general ledger journal entries, fixed assets, and reconciliations (cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable).
- Maintain stewardship of organization’s books, records, and assets.
- Responsible for preparing monthly financial statements.
- Development of pertinent and required monthly financial and statistical reports and provides relative information to the Board in conjunction with the leadership team.
- Provide ongoing information, insight and guidance to the CEO and leadership team regarding the organization’s financial systems.
- Oversight of the Finance Assistant.
- Monitor all fiscal activities including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and procurement. Assure proper procedure, controls, and cost-effective measures.
- Closely monitor and manage cash flow; assuring organization’s financial obligations are met.
- In conjunction with the CEO and senior leadership team, develop, implement, and monitor annual budget.
- Work with consultants and auditors to complete all required annual reporting, including annual financial audit.
- Ensure that all accounting practices are in compliance with regulatory agencies and follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Responsible for internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop financial strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- CPA preferred, but not required.
- Three years’ prior experience as a Financial Controller required.
- Experience in healthcare, with FQHC experience preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a plus.
- Excellent team-based communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer literacy / proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications such as accounting software.
- Detail oriented with the ability to work with minimum / no supervision
